According to comScore, a leader in measuring the digital world, the amount of global internet users is increasing monthly. However, the proliferation of internet capable mobile devices can put an unexpected snag in your publicity efforts. Many users are taking advantage of all the benefits of mobile e-mail. Receiving several eNewsletters a day, it is pertinent that your e-mailed messages stand out above the rest and look great on both desktops/laptops and mobile devices. Consider the following to ensure a successful campaign.
1. HTML - iPhones and Blackberrys now have html capabilities. However, keep it simple. The more complex the code, the more likely there will be issues.
2. Link - We all know linking to your site and adding links that link to other pages of your site, you will raise your organic search results. Be sure to offer a link at the top of your eNewsletter that allows mobile users to view a text only version.
3. Images - The use of images is wildly successful. However, keep them simple and at a low resolution. If a newsletter is going to take several minutes to download on a mobile device, you can be sure users will turn away and not open future messages.
4. Service - Chose an experiences service to deliver your newsletters or a trained PR professional. Remember, not all people receive e-mail in the same way. Versatile offerings will only increase the chance of reaching your publicity goals.
5. Options - Offer your opt in subscribers an option. Send a mobile capable and standard newsletter. Subscribers will be able to chose whether to receive a standard newsletter or a mobile capable communique.
Turn to experiences professional when starting an e-mail campaign. Sending irrelevant information, garbled newsletters and providing information too often or too much can all lead to a damaged company image.
