H. Clinton - The Spirit WIthin?

Sunday, May 25, 2008

O man, this has been a tough weekend for H.  It seems like she has simply lost the spirit to win.  Look at her.  She said something that was (depending on your bias, misconstrued by the media/so absurdly idiotic).  She made some comments about the timeline of past campaigns using Bobby Kennedy's assassination (as a timeline point of reference/making an odd comparison with Bobby and Barack).

Discussed on Hardball:

Now if we look beyond all that has happened with that comment on the trail of her campaign, there is a change in Senator Clinton.  She seems disheartened.  She did not respond to her comments immediately [but did respond much more timely compared to the comments about being under sniper fire...].

After the assasination reference Senator Clinton spoke with the backdrop of a grocery store produce section.   She then delivered her standard campaign speech and spoke much quieter than normal, had lack luster crowd support, and even was confronted about past scandals [such as the releasing of Puerto Rican Nationals in 1999 to help sway the Puerto Rican voters of New York in her senatorial campaign] according to a report from the NY Times.

Hilary knows that there is no hope.  She however said she would never give up.  She is stuck fighting a fight she just can't win.  It is almost as if she is an apparition of her former fervor.  I feel kind of bad for her...
